Halal Certification Assistance in Malaysia
For Malaysian Halal certification (SPHM), applications are handled by the competent authority (JAKIM or the state MAIN/JAIN), and JAKIM issues the certificate based on the formal decision of the Panel Pengesahan Halal Malaysia. Our team helps restaurants, food businesses and cloud kitchens work out which certification scheme applies, then organise documents, review them before submission and follow up on the application. Assess first, then act.
Who this is for
Restaurants and food premises
Restaurants, cafés, canteens, bakeries, food chains, caterers, food-court cafeterias and kiosks fall under the official food premises scheme.
Food manufacturing and central kitchens
Manufacturers, repackers, central kitchen operators and brand owners fall under the food and beverage products scheme.
Cloud kitchens and shared kitchens
The official procedure has no separate category for cloud kitchens. We check your set-up against the official definitions with you to confirm which scheme applies.
Assess first: which scheme applies
Some official rules directly affect how you apply:
- A food premises with a central kitchen must first hold an SPHM for that kitchen under the food and beverage products scheme.
- Food chains apply for every outlet, managed centrally.
- Companies that handle both halal and non-halal products, and premises serving non-halal menus, are not eligible.
The procedure also requires valid business registration (SSM or similar), a local authority (PBT) licence or approval and, where relevant, food premises registration with the Ministry of Health. So we usually start by checking these are in place. Full guide: Halal Certification in Malaysia: A MYeHALAL Guide
Application support and follow-up
The application is made in your company’s name and is usually submitted from your company’s own MYeHALAL account. We never ask for passwords. The authority deals with your company directly, and we support you in the background:
- checking the official requirements to work out which scheme and application type fits;
- helping you organise documents;
- reviewing before submission for consistency and completeness;
- following up on the authority’s requests until the application has an outcome.
A note on approval
Halal certification is reviewed by the authority and formally decided by the Panel Pengesahan Halal Malaysia. We help you prepare a complete, accurate application; the decision is the authority’s.
