Your CIDB contractor registration (PPK) and your government works certificate (SPKK) are renewed separately, and both are renewed online through CIMS. Before you start, check where each one stands and whether your company details are up to date. This guide explains what to look at first. For how PPK, SPKK and STB differ, see our CIDB registration guide.
Start by checking your registration
CIMS’s public contractor search shows a contractor’s grade, category and whether the registration is valid or expired. Check this first, so you know which certificates need attention.
CIDB’s conditions for registered contractors state that a contractor may not take part in any tender or carry out construction work after the certificate has expired, until it is renewed. Keep an eye on your expiry date and plan ahead.
PPK renewal
PPK renewal is its own application on CIMS (Permohonan Pembaharuan Perakuan Pendaftaran Kontraktor). CIMS’s How To Use page has an official guide to it, and a guide to the conditions attached to the PPK.
SPKK renewal and SCORE
SPKK renewal is a separate application on CIMS. Under CIDB’s circular effective 1 January 2026, contractors in grades G2 to G7 need a valid SCORE certificate (CIDB’s contractor capability assessment) with a minimum star rating to re-register their SPKK. The same circular states that not meeting the minimum SCORE rating may mean a contractor cannot apply to re-register the SPKK. SCORE has its own guide on CIMS.
Does an SPKK suspension affect my PPK?
CIDB’s circular states that suspending or withdrawing an SPKK does not affect the PPK, unless separate action is taken on the PPK.
If your company details have changed
CIMS has a separate application for changing company details (Permohonan Perubahan Butir) and one for updating your registration (Permohonan Kemaskini Pendaftaran). If anything has changed, check which one applies before you renew.
CIMS also has an entry for CCD points application.
Application support and follow-up
The application is made in your company’s name, and you usually submit it yourself through your own CIMS account. We never ask for your password. Our team:
- checks which certificates need renewing and whether your details need updating first;
- prepares and organises your documents;
- reviews your application before you submit it;
- follows up on CIDB’s requests until the application is closed.
A note on approval
Renewal decisions rest with CIDB. We help you prepare a complete, accurate application; the decision is CIDB’s.
